Vienna Insight: First Anniversary

Best tourism blog 2012

Our blog is growing up

It’s now more than a year since we have launched our blog. A lot has happened during this year. Colleagues have taken leave and new ones have joined the team. All of the authors’ initial worries – “Can I even do this?” “Will anybody be interested?” – have evaporated. Writing blog articles became a part of our everyday life as well as a part of us. Sometimes it’s difficult, but most of the time it’s fun to outdo oneself. One of our authors is standing behind every report, and that’s what makes Vienna Insight so special.

You, dear reader, are proof that we’re on the right path with our information. We will continue to look for good topics on your behalf.
Do you have a topic that you’d like to read about? Let us know… maybe we have an expert on the subject!

Best Tourism Blog 2012

In the fall of 2012, Vienna Insight was named the Best Tourism Blog in Austria by HOGAST.

Best tourism blog for the Schick Hotels Vienna

HOGAST – the purchasing association for the hotel and restaurant industry – awards a prize once a year for the internet presences of Austrian hotel and restaurant companies. An expert panel evaluates three categories – website, Facebook presence and blog – and declared the Schick Hotels’s blog the winner.
We are thrilled about this official confirmation and had the honor of accepting our “Oscar” during the ceremonial evening event in Terminal 2 of the Salzburg Airport.

Vienna’s best insights

Since launching in 2011, we have already counted over 30,000 visitors who collectively have clicked nearly 50,000 times through Vienna Insight. A heartfelt thanks to you, dear readers!

I hereby present the three most-read articles in 2012:

1st place:
Viennese cuisine with history – “Backhendl” (fried chicken), a genuine Viennese original

2nd place:
The five most beautiful churches in Vienna: St. Charles’s Church
3rd place:
Viennese cuisine with history – Christmas and festive dishes in Vienna – Then and Now

What do you think? Are these also your favorite articles?

See you in 2013!

We’re already looking forward to writing many more blog articles for you in 2013.
On behalf of the entire Vienna Insight team, I wish you a very happy new year!
