VieVinum 2014

Record wine festival at Vienna’s Hofburg Palace

Wine lovers and enthusiasts have already penciled it in their calendars and are eagerly awaiting the event. Austria’s largest, most important wine trade fair is taking place already for the ninth time, from June 14-16, 2014, at the Vienna Hofburg.

Every other year, the wine country of Austria provides the perfect setting for THE wine event par excellence. Record-breaking variety is expected in 2014. The number of exhibitors had leveled off at around 500 in recent years, yet this year there are over 550 from Austria and throughout the world – a record that VieVinum organizer Alexandra Graski-Hoffmann traces to both the increasing popularity of the trade fair and the efficiency of the manageable size. Like in 2012, more than 14,500 visitors – restaurateurs, dealers, media representatives and wine lovers – are expected at this year’s festival.

The series of guest countries continues this year with France. Several French vineyards are among the most famous in the world. Whether it’s Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy or Provence, vintners from all different areas do the honors at VieVinum.

What is so fascinating about VieVinum? Why should you attend this particular wine festival? On the one hand, the number of vintners, dealers and exhibitors, as well as their international origins, are definitely impressive. On the other hand, the presentation at the highest level of professionalism, the optimal visitor service and the comprehensive side events program at Vienna’s Hofburg Palace as a top location need to be highlighted. VieVinum is actively supported again this year by ÖWM (Österreichische Weinmarketing [Austrian Wine Marketing]– see here.

A side events program from A to Z

Tasting and gathering information – this is possible in a variety of ways at VieVinum. While around 550 vintners provide information about their wines directly at the trade fair stands, the side events program offers the greatest variety of commented theme-based tastings and diverse talks on grape varieties, soil science and climate change, how vintner groups arose, and much more.
