10th Vienna Culinary Festival May 12–14, 2017 in Stadtpark

“Regions worth living in”

This is the slogan of the anniversary culinary festival (Genuss-Festival) that will take place for the tenth time this year in Vienna’s Stadtpark. Austrian top producers and exhibitors will present their products at approximately 190 sales stands. Tasting lots of samples and asking lots of questions are very much welcome, and you can of course also purchase any products. The festival is ideal as a Mothers’ Day excursion or just to enjoy…

Three days of culinary delights

What would Mothers’ Day weekend in Vienna be without the Culinary Festival (“Genuss-Festival”)? From May 12–14, 2017, approximately 190 first-rate Austrian craft producers and top manufacturers will present their delicacies – for purchase, trying, tasting and taking home with you. Do you have a question about how something is produced? Then the Culinary Festival is the right place for you, since it’s seldom possible to get this close to the producer. Collaborations and new contacts can also be made, as can making plans for your next vacation destination.

The spectrum ranges from classic specialties from the best regional raw ingredients such as “Kübelspeck” (bucket bacon, a type of bacon cured in vats), ham from Mangalitza pork, cold-pressed oil variations, marmalades, Alpine  cheese from Vorarlberg and buffalo mozzarella from the Waldviertel, all the way to culinary novelties such as “Karpfenwurst” (carp sausage), bread made from Champagne rye, Viennese organic honey with lemon verbena, or “Wildleberkäse” (“Leberkäse” is a type of meat popular in Austria and Germany, and “Wild” is game meat).

In addition to the culinary treats, there is a “Railaxed-Zone” for picnics and relaxing, a children’s play area, as well as an “origin tent” with live cooking demonstrations.

Collaborations with Zurück zum Ursprung, Agrarmarkt Austria, the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, Wien zu Fuss, Austrian Federal Railways, the Austrian Mint, the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, Wien Holding, Casinos Austria, and many other organizations also made this year’s 10th anniversary culinary festival in Vienna possible.

The Schick Hotels Vienna teams will look forward to greeting you to Austria’s capital city with Viennese charm and regaling you with excellent service.
