A heart’s desire

‘Stiftung Kindertraum’ makes wishes come true

By the motto “Do something good and talk about it” today I would like to introduce the ‘Stiftung Kindertraum‘ to you. It is the aim of the ‘Stiftung Kindertraum’ to fulfil heart’s desires to improve the life quality of special children and their families.

For many years the Schick Hotels have supported the Stiftung Kindertraum, an organisation that makes wishes of ill children and children with special needs come true. The original idea – to invest the Christmas cards budget in a donation to Stiftung Kindertraum – has become a regular institution at the Schick Hotels. Whenever it is necessary we offer rooms for free during the year and welcome kids and their families here in Vienna.

Each year, when Christmas greetings are sent all over the world, we decide, instead of buying Christmas cards, to help fulfil a heart’s desire for a very special child. From a holiday in America to various therapies and a new computer, there have been many wished that came true and gave these children moments of happiness.Stiftung Kindertraum 2014 englisch

This year we could enable a Sensory Integration Therapy for the 2-years old Adrian from Vienna, which improves Adrian’s movement skills and linguistic and emotional development. He startet already in December 2014 with this therapy and it lasts for one year. A Sensory Integration Therapy trains and improves the sense of balance, tactile sense and depth perception. In this say it promotes the movement skills, as well as the linguistic, mental and emotional development.
Adrian’s Mum is very happy that her sun now will learn to crawl ‘normally’, which is an essential precondition for walking later on, as well as for his cognitive development and his speech skills.

We are very pleased to support Adrian and make his life a bit easier – on behalf of all our guests, customers and our staff.

In this spirit we wish you – dear reader of this blog –
a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2015!
