Since its start in the year 2000, more than five million visitors have taken advantage of the Long Night of Museum’s enormous range of programming. With a single ticket, you have the possibility of visiting many museums on Saturday, October 3, 2015, between 6:00 in the evening and 1:00 in the morning. In Vienna this year, you can select from among 127 cultural locations – no small undertaking given the countless incredibly interesting special presentations as well as the classics. From the major museums such as the Museum of Art History, the Museum of Natural History and the Museumsquartier, through to all sorts of galleries, all the way to small insiders’ tips, there’s something for everyone.

The tickets (regular price: € 13.00 per person) are also valid again this year for the shuttle busses that commute between the participating locations. Reduced-price tickets (€ 11.00) are available for students, military service personnel, senior citizens and people with disabilities. Children up to 12 years of age are admitted free of charge.

Children have access to artists’ ateliers, special children’s tours, puzzle-solving quests, shows, courses, artistic exhibitions and much more – participation is a must. Anyone who has visited at least three children’s programs can once again collect a stamp in their booklet, and at the children’s tent located at the “Treffpunkt Museum” (museum meeting point) at Heldenplatz in Vienna there’s a little gift for all children who do so.

You can purchase tickets and booklets in advance at all participating museums or online at http://langenacht.orf.at/en/tickets/ , as well as at “Treffpunkt Museum” at Heldenplatz in Vienna on the day of the event.ORF LNDM, Credit ORF-Design

On that note: Get your ticket and booklet, choose your museums, plan your route, get a good night’s sleep… and then dive into cultural delight at the 2015 ORF Long Night of Museums!

TIP: If you’d like to combine the ORF Long Night of Museums with a weekend trip to Vienna, the centrally located Schick Hotels & Restaurants are a good place to stay – you can reach many cultural attractions comfortably on foot!
