Hotel Stefanie – unique in Vienna since 1600

How wonderful would it be to drink from the fountain of youth and combine it with the wisdom of age? Believe it or not, we’re close to achieving exactly this at the Hotel Stefanie. How would it otherwise be possible to create a hotel that has thrilled guests from all over the world for more than four centuries if it didn’t undergo some kind of regular “fitness program”?

The results of the most recent “workout” can be seen as of March 2016:

New Suite at Hotel Stefanie

18 elegant rooms, including 2 cozy suites, were designed from the ground up according to the motto: “Preserve tradition and combine it with today’s comfort.” All in all, the Hotel Stefanie now offers 111 individual guest rooms, all of which have been renovated in recent years in accordance with the needs of today’s guests.

In the current series of rooms we rolled out the “red carpet,” with elegant ornaments that also continue a fine golden pattern in the wallpaper. The furniture has been kept clearly and classically in a classy brown tone, and the bathrooms are bright and welcoming.

Elegance and comfort in the suite

“Modern and glossy” don’t fit the Hotel Stefanie, and kitsch and pomp don’t suit today’s era. We therefore focused on creating comfortable rooms in which you can be in the present yet still feel the spirit of days past thanks to the finely placed accents.

It’s all about the details

On the washstand with its playful feet and handles, you may feel a bit like Empress Sisi, and you’ll shower with environmentally friendly soap under the modern shower head before wrapping yourself in the cozy bath towels.

Stylish bathrooms

Trreat yourself to refreshments from the minibar, flip through the Sky cable programs on offer, or connect with the free WLAN. You can set the temperature to your liking using the air conditioning. Good lighting is every bit a matter of course as is the possibility to fully darken the room for an especially restorative sleep.

A large number of the rooms face the quiet courtyard, and from some of them you can see the branches of the 100-year-old tree-of-heaven which shade the outdoor dining area. The rooms situated towards Taborstrasse, by contrast, offer a wonderful view of the historical church tower of the “Barmherzige Brüder” (Merciful Brothers) on the one hand and on the other a view towards downtown Vienna, with the two modern skyscrapers which like two guardians form the entrance to the equally historical Taborstrasse.

Ready for the future

Vienna’s oldest hotel is in no need of a walking stick – it stays young. It has continued to develop and adapt to the needs of its guests over the centuries. This tradition will continue to be preserved in the future, as it has in the four generations of the Schick family.
