Vanillekipferl

For your enjoyment…

Do you feel the same as I do on weekends on or special holidays, or when you have guests over? I’d like to cook something very special, not the usual fare. Then I’m either spoiled for choice or I can’t think of anything at all. If even intensively searching the internet turns out to be fruitless or leafing through piles of cookbooks doesn’t turn up any solution, try our Recipe of the Month!

From the chefs of the Schick Restaurants in Vienna, every month there is a new, seasonal recipe from Austrian or Viennese cuisine for you to prepare and enjoy at home! If you don’t want to have to prepare your meal yourself, it will be a pleasure for the teams of the Schick Restaurants to spoil you with culinary treats all around…

In December 2019 – a recipe by Anton Kormanak – chef of the restaurant at Hotel Stefanie:

Vanillekipferl muffins

Ingredients, approx. 8 pieces

100 g plain flour
100 g Vanillekipferl (crescent-shaped biscuits)
60 g oat flakes
100 g chopped chocolate
100 g sugar
60 g liquid margarine or butter
100 ml milk
2 eggs
1 sachet vanilla sugar
1 sachet baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

Crumble the Vanillekipferl by hand and put them into a large bowl with the remaining ingredients.

Stir well with a hand mixer. Fill 2/3 of the muffins moulds with the dough and bake at approx. 170 degrees (top/bottom heat) for 20 minutes.

Allow to cool and enjoy.
