Vienna Summerbreak

VIENNA SUMMERBREAK – Vienna’s summer festival

Summer in Vienna is still underway and yet our vibrant city once again offers a highlight. Reinhard Fendrich once sang “Haben Sie Wien schon bei Nacht gesehn’?” From August 29 to 31, 2014, you will have the opportunity to experience Vienna as an international party metropolis.

The triumphant finale of the summer festival season is the 3. Vienna Summerbreak, right in the heart of the Danube metropolis. Awaiting visitors is a three day, diverse event spectacle in over 50 Viennese top locations with nearly 400 DJs, among them international greats such as DJ Observer, Tom Snow and Rudy MC. Beginning with the “nightride by Wiener Linien” on Friday evening, the colorful street parade, and the subsequent street festival at Rathausplatz on Saturday, as well as the Pool Party on Sunday after new at the Vienna City Beach Club, the Vienna Summerbreak offers a non-stop party program with free entry.

All of that takes place in the middle of Vienna. From the Schick Hotels, you’ll have most of the locations right in front of your front door, or at least your hotel doors. For the first time, VIP ticket owners can also visit selected museums in the Museumsquartier on Saturday, such as the Leopold Museum, mumok and Archtitekturzentrum Wien under the motto “Art & Culture.” Vienna’s summer festival thereby shines with a culturally and qualitatively first-class program variety and brings the summer to a suitable conclusion.

An overview of the VIENNA SUMMERBREAK program:

Friday, August 29, 2014, starting at 9:00 PM – nightride by Wiener Linien.

Exactly five years ago, the Wiener Linien expanded their operations to 24 hours day and also launched the all-night metro. The nightride, a party night for young Viennese, was created by the Wiener Linien. In collaboration with Vienna’s club culture, night owls can ride public transportation for free on this evening with only online registration and let the night turn to day with free entry to numerous clubs.

Saturday, August 30, 2014, 1:00 PM – Street Parade for Happiness and Tolerance.

Last year, thousands danced and demonstrated at the Street Parade, which has now become legendary. Now in its sixth year, it campaigns for a cosmopolitan and tolerant Vienna under the motto “celebrate with one another, live peacefully with one another.” Colorful, loud and flashy, around 15 decorated trucks drive along the Ring with all sorts of beats, from Stadtpark to Rathausplatz (start: 1:00 PM at Parkring, Stadtpark).

Saturday, August 30, 2014, 5:00 PM – Street Festival at Rathausplatz.

The Street Festival celebrated its premiere last year, and this year as well, it will be the climax of the Vienna Summerbreak at Rathausplatz. With an array of top DJs such as Steve Hope, Möwe as a live act, Emil Berliner, Der Wanderer, the turntable artist at important festivals DJ Rudy MC of Italy, as well as DJ Observer and Tom Snow, thousands of party people will dance boisterously in the open air. The finest EDM, electro and house sounds guarantee a pure goose bump feeling in front of the breathtaking backdrop of City Hall. Afterwards, the program continues in numerous clubs with a special Summerbreak program.

Sunday, August 31, 2014, 11:00 AM – Pool Party at the Vienna City Beach Club.

The Pool Party at 11:00 AM on Sunday offers the best opportunity to really relax your tired dancing legs. Known for its magnificent beach, refreshing cocktails and the fine house tunes of famous DJs, the Vienna City Beach Club invites you to the Summerbreak closing at Vienna’s largest pool, at the bank of the Neue Donau. The perfect place to recover and to relax or to celebrate one last time.
