Cherished customs, timeless tradition and socializing

From September 21 through October 8, 2017, you can slip on your dirndl and lederhosen and head to the Wiener Wiesn-Fest. Taking place already for the seventh time, the now-traditional festival will be held at the Kaiserwiese in Vienna’s Prater. High spirits and a good mood meet 700 hours of live music with 1900 musicians in three festival tents, five huts and in the Wiesn Fest Dorf (village) over 18 days.

Once you’ve crossed the entrance arch to the festival area, you’re already right in the thick of things: Three festival tents, five huts and the ADEG Wiesn-Fest Dorf with stands offer diverse arts and crafts and regional delicacies or invite you to participate.

Festival tents and huts

Three festival tents are available to guests: From the Gösser tent to the Wiesbauer tent all the way to Wojnar’s Kaiser-Zelt (Emperor’s Tent), all of them offer a friendly atmosphere, varied programs and the best entertainment.

The five traditional huts can be visited and used for free from 11:30 AM to 1:00 AM. On the program are live acts, upscale gastronomy, alpine flair and an Après Ski Party.

From traditional early shopping with entertaining wind music, folk music and fun in the afternoon all the way to a diverse evening program, the Wiener Wiesn-Fest offers everything needed for a traditional festival. Numerous live music acts really party hard – whether it’s hit songs or folk music, for young or old – there’s something for every visitor.

For the little visitors – the Kinder-Wiesn

For the little guests, from 12:00 to 5:30 PM every day from Friday through Sunday, there is a colorful children’s program with great games at the Wiener Wiesn-Fest. A gigantic play area, puzzle rally, children’s makeup and more ensure that kids will never get bored.

Further highlights

Still more special events will take place in addition to the numerous music acts and stars:

On Tuesday, September 26, 2017: 3rd Night of Agriculture – a must for all fans of Tracht – Austria’s traditional dress – looking to celebrate a relaxing evening with friends and colleagues and who wish to use the opportunity for networking at the Wiesn-Fest.

On Friday, September 22, 2017, the Rosa Wiesn-Party starts and on Saturday, October 7, 2017 the Rosa Wiener Wiesn-Fest Early Shopping Party will take place.

On Sunday, October 1, 2017 the Wiener Wiesn-Fest Trachten Clubbing will take place at the Wiesbauer tent with the slogan “Spirit, Fun, Full Speed.”

On Thursday, September 21, 2017, the first Almdudler Trachtenpärchen Party (Tracht Couple’s Party) will take place in the Wiesbauer tent.

Also new: On Saturday, September 23, 2017, the first Soletti Party with lots of fun snacks and the slogan “Gib deinem Schatz einen Schmatz” (“Give your sweetheart a big kiss”) is on the program – an incomparable evening with lots of fun and surprises.
